A briefing in Shift Relay is a versioned operational document tied to a shift — assembled from live data, published on the record, and acknowledged by the people who read it.
Staffing, assignments, priority incidents, safety information, watch items, weather, equipment and vehicle status, facility notes, training notices, announcements, open tasks and the prior-shift handoff are pulled from live records rather than retyped into a document that is stale by the time it is printed.
Reorder sections, hide the ones your organization does not use, preview in roll-call mode, and read from a display designed to be scanned aloud in a briefing room.
Publishing never overwrites history. Editing a published briefing creates a new draft version, and acknowledgments stay tied to the version the person actually read.
