Keep the entry form short enough to complete in under a minute. Default the timestamp, the shift and the author. Make categories a small fixed list rather than a free-text field. Do not require fields that supervisors will not have at the moment of writing.
Run both systems for two weeks, then stop the paper log on a specific date rather than letting it fade out. Parallel systems that persist indefinitely guarantee that neither one is complete.
Shift Relay is in early access for organizations that run around the clock. Tell us how your shifts change hands and we will show you the workflow end to end.
